Kelly Goede, PHQ #43 MO in Motorcycle Accident

Submitted by Marlene Frakes, PSG, PGG MO

This note comes from Momma Donna Goede, Grand Guardin of Missouri  with a prayer request for her daughter, Kelly, PHQ #43:

To my Jobie family:

I am asking that you keep my daughter Kelly,  PHQ 43 MO,  in your prayers. Kelly is stationed in Florida in the United States Coast Guard. Today she was involved in a motorcycle accident and was transported by helicopter to the Orlando Regional Medical Center. We know she has a compound fracture of one leg and that the other leg is likely broken. We know nothing else and have not been able talk with her while she is in the Trauma Center. I am flying to Orlando early tomorrow and will know more then. I do not know how long I will be in Florida.

Sincerely, Momma Donna

Update from Momma Donna...

Kelly's father just talked to her chief and I spoke to the hospital chaplain...she has broken both ankles and both lower bones in her left leg...they are taking her in to surgery right now for both legs. She also has a vertebrae chipped between her shoulder blades but they are not concerned about that. She will probably be pretty sedated for a while...at least til I get there. Her Chief is staying at the hospital until results of surgeries are know.

For those who wish to send get well wishes to Kelly Goede, PHQ #43, who was injured in a motorcycle accident, Mom Ginny Goede, GS, sends her address:

ONLINE CONSTITUTION & BYLAWS

Submitted by Valerie Cooper, PSG, PHQ, Chairman of Supreme Jurisprudence Committee

Information has been sent from the Supreme Office regarding the decision of the Board of Trustees to change the format of the Constitution & Bylaws from the ‘white book’ size to a standard 8.5 x 11 paper.  Once completed, the new format will be placed on the IOJD website so everyone can download her or his own copy.  With receipt of this information, questions have come up - following is some additional information, which we hope, will assist in answering these questions.

Printed copies can be requested from the Supreme Office in the event a person is unable to download herself or himself, but only in the new format size.

A person can download the files and place into a binder of their choice.  We recommend that the Supreme pages be printed on white paper as is currently used.

GGC’s / JGC’s can format their Manual to be compatible with the new sizing and make available online.

It is our recommendation that each jurisdiction follow the same page numbering as indicated on the Supreme page and if there is more than one page to contain the necessary information it would then be numbered as 1a; 1b; 1c  etc.

Some jurisdictions have different size paper so we suggest using the sizing closest to the 8.5 x 11 and print to match what is on the Supreme page even though it may create larger margins.

GGC’s can utilize whatever paper color they would like, whether it is the color they currently use, another color or white.

When a jurisdiction formats their Manual to fit the new size we request that copies be sent to the Supreme Guardian, Vice Supreme Guardian, Supreme Office and all members of the Supreme Jurisprudence Committee.  This will allow us to be working from the same documents.

If the only change is formatting and housekeeping items, it will not be necessary to submit to the Supreme Jurisprudence Committee for approval.  However, if a jurisdiction makes changes to the content or integrity of a page it will be necessary to handle this change through the amendment process.

We would also encourage jurisdictions to take this opportunity to make the changes:    ‘International Order of Job’s Daughters’ to ‘Job’s Daughters International’  and  ‘IOJD’ to ‘JDI’   as housekeeping.

At the Annual Session of the SGC some may be working from the older, smaller size and others will already have the larger version.  It will be additionally important that we place our attention on the ARTICLE number and Section rather than page numbers.

There will be proposed amendments to be considered at the Annual Session to allow for the distribution of approved amendments via the website to accommodate this change and in an attempt to reduce costs.    If this is adopted then jurisdictions can also incorporate this into the manner of handling their amendment changes once approved through the amendment process.

JDI HOME PAGE WELCOMES
TWO NEW LINKS!

by Tomilynn E. Willits McManus, PHQ, PSG
Curator, Job’s Daughters International
(curator@iojd.org)

On your next visit to the Job’s Daughters International home page, you will notice two new links on the navigation bar.

The “International Center” is a new link that provides an opportunity to view features of the International Center and to learn more about JDI headquarters.

The “From The Curator” is a new link that includes both the Curator’s articles that formerly appeared on the SNE on-line, and more information on JDI history, our historical collection, and the work of the Curator.

I am grateful for the assistance of PSG Marlene Frakes, SNE Coordinator, who has posted my articles on the SNE on-line, and PASG Ashley Underwood, Webmaster, who expertly eased our transition to this new format.  Their patience in working with a computer neophyte has been most appreciated.

In designing these two links, I sought the professional expertise of Andrea Benoit of InnerNet Sales Company.

The Board of Trustees joins me in welcoming you to these new links, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
